To ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products and the safety of people, the ecological environment and livestock, China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has decided to ban four highly toxic pesticides.

These 4 pesticides are as follows:

  1. Phorate
  2. Isophenphos-methyl
  3. Isocarbophos
  4. Ethoprophos

It has been decided that as of September 1 of this year, the registrations of phorate, isophenphos-methyl, isocarbophos and ethoprophos techniques and formulations will be revoked and their production will be banned.

Products that were legally produced will be allowed to be sold and used within the term of their quality assurance, but their sale and use will be prohibited as of September 1, 2024.
